Creality CR-10 Dual Z axis belt tensioner

Creality CR-10 Dual Z axis belt tensioner

Description

Belt tensioner for CR-10 with dual z-axis add-on. Using additional toothed pulley and belt as shown in the picture (ordered mine from Amazon, but any source should be fine) to synchronize the dual z-axis, i found the belt to be too loose, so I designed this simple adjustable tensioner that fits on the top rail of the CR-10, and adjusts using two M3 screws and 2020 T nuts. A 5/16 inch, 1 1/4 inch bolt fits the center of the pulley and provides room for a nylon or other locking nut underneath (or use regular nut with Loctite). I didn't have a 1 1/4 inch bolt, so I used a 1 1/2 inch bolt and printed a 1/4 inch washer to use as a spacer. Two versions of the tensioner are provided, the original and a shorter one with more narrow slots that fit the M3 screws better. Adjust tension so that the belt is snug enough to keep from slipping, but not so tight that it constrains the z axis screws. I suggest raising the Z axis as far as it can go using the control box, then adjust the tension, lower Z back to zero, and then going back up to make sure there isn't any binding along the entire travel.
