911 Cross
Description
This project is made for the Autodesk Fusion 360 Challenge (prompt #1), a wearable to keep someone safe while commuting. The idea was not only to design a device, but 3D print full size model to test it in a real world environment. The wearable is a rosary. It has one small button pressing which gave a signal to police or any other contact. The cross is connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth. The button contains a multicolor LED which gives information about the device state (red -- low battery, blinking green -- charging, green -- charge complete, etc.) A vibromotor can be utilized to help indicating the events. Charging is made by using a small wireless dock station. Coil in the cross transmit energy when the cross in the base. The rosary looks innocent and cheap enough and cannot cause greed or aggression. Magnet at the back side of the cross allows to use it as a fridge magnet. It allows to transform the rosary in a 'stationary' emergency button. Similarly the rosary can be put on a rearview mirror in a car or anywhere near the person. The beads have threaded shafts which allows increase chain length, so this can be put on as a necklace or a belt. Modeled with Autodesk Fusion 360
