Geeetech Mixing Hot end Mod
Description
First of some credits , the image used was from another thing posted here. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3203831 I should have take pics when I did mine :) and the part was created by Israel Andrade, I've just brought the part and image together and posted it . Update a smaller cap is used by the A10T so please select the appropriate end cap. A few hot end designs ( including Geeetech ) have a flaw, in that the PTFE tube can rise up in the hot end if the Bowden tube clamp fails in some way. This causes thermal runaway and the inevitable clogs that spoil the print. It may be solved by fitting good quality Bowden clamps but not a sure fix. There is an alternative. The best solution I have found is to cut a length of PTFE roughly 33mm long ( you will have to trim to suit ) and fitting a cap, the cap is locks the PTFE down in the hot end when the Bowden fitting is screwed on top of it. TIP: If you have to remove the short length of tube from the hot end there is nothing to grip onto, but if you have a swiss needle file, you know the very thin pointed file, gently push it in till it grips the tube and lift it out, don't push it to hard in or it may just lock it in the hole. This is not my idea, or my stl, the file was kindly sent to me by Israel Andrade, and the image that illustrates the assembly I found on the web. I've had a few good messages back, so I have removed the "work in progress" and published it in the hope that even if you don't use it, it helps understand the issue of slipping PTFE.
