LR20 Battery Holder Conversion Kit 40mm tube with 12V cap
Description
I'm preparing my Camping trip WITHOUT a 220V power outlet. As I still want to have my Smartphone, Tablet, Bluetooth-Speaker etc. active, I wanted to have a large Capacity Battery Pack. LR20 (Mono, Type D) Alkaline has 18000mAh according to Wikipedia, and I still have my Car-Charger at hand. I didn't want to upgrade to a 12V Pb-Akku system due to the Price and it being unused after this trip. LR20 batteries can be nicely recycled. So I converted a 40mm outer Diameter tube with 2x M4 Screws to a 12V Battery outlet. Attached it to a 12V outlet box and using my Car-Charger. Cost-Base: 23Eur for 20x LR20 Alkaline (Amazon). It takes 8 batteries to get to 12V. So for 9,2Eur I'm able to charge my Phones 4-6 times. That's ok for me. Screw the M4 Screws into the Cap and Bottom. Cut the 40mm Tube to 48,8mm. Glue the parts together (not the Cap) Screw the cap on. Take care to not short circuit the outputs, it's several Amps.
