Tile Pro Protective Cases
Description
Here are a collection of protective cases I've made for the Tile Pro. I really like my Tile Pro; so much so that I wanted to be able to mount them under my bike seat, put them in my luggage, and keep one on my keychain. However, life can be rough on things like keys, and I want to protect this thing! And that brings us to this series of thingiverse things from @magdong! **How to Print** -------------------------------- All of these items require printing with Supports enabled. In Cura, I specified 30% support infill, touching build plate only, with a 0.2mm Support Z distance to keep the supports easily removed. Layer height should be set to 0.15mm. The layer height is important that they be thin because there are only a few thin layers of plastic around the "T" button area. For me, when printing, I used eSUN Advanced PLA+ in 1.75mm on a Taz 6 with an IT-Works3d Titan Aero Pro hotend. These toolheads are awesome, they bring reliable E3D-driven 1.75mm filament to the Taz 6, and the company is super friendly and helpful. Can't say enough nice things about them! For information on their print heads, you can visit them at www.itworks3d.com - might as well tell'em @magdong sent ya! :) **Overview of Designs** --------------------------------- Fundamentally, there are two series of files included here. Glued, and Screws. **"Glued"**: Items that are entitled "Glued" are two separate halves that are meant to have the two sides glued together. This obviously isn't practical as the Tile Pro has a removable battery, and fusing them in the protective case would mean you'd need to break the case apart to change the battery in the future. **"Screws"**: Items entitled "Screws" are meant to be attached together with Jewellers screws. I got a whole bunch of these from Amazon that's sold as a kit for eye glasses repair or small screws collection. These screws are tiny - like the ones in the corner of your glasses on the hinge (if you wear glasses). The screws you need are Self-Tapping M1.4x3.0. From there, there are a few different styles. **In the Glued Category:** --------------------------------- **"Original Form"** is just a protective case that fits the "Original Form" of the tile. **"No Keyring"** is a version of the protective case with the Key Ring area removed. **"Semiflex Pouch"** is a version that you can print in Semi-flex material, bond the two sides together, and then you should be able to slip the tile pro into the protective case relatively tightly. I don't have semi-flex on hand at the moment, so I'm not sure whether I've "nailed it" on this one. I tried using regular TPU (NinjaFlex) but it's wayyyy to rubbery for this purpose. **In the Screws Category:** --------------------------------- **"Screws - No Strap"** is just a protective case in the form of "No Keyring" that fits over the Tile Pro, which can be screwed together. There are no holes for mounting strapping to. **"Screws - With Strap"** - same as "No Strap" but with mount holes for 1 inch webbing / strapping. This is good if you want to strap the tile onto something, like a bike, or something else. **"Screws - Flatback with Strap and Speaker"** is the same as "Screws - With Strap", except it's got a flat back on it which makes it more ideal for being held against something. This design also "relocates" the speaker from the back of the Tile Pro to the side so that when you strap this onto something, it doesn't block the speaker. Finally, **"Screws - Flatmount w Speaker"** is the same as "Screws - Flatback with Strap and Speaker", except the back is made completely flush to the hoops, allowing for a flush-mount. The hoops could be used for screws, for example, to screw the tile mount onto an object. I could have made individual holes instead of leaving them as hoops - but I figured hoops allow for adjustment post-attachment in case you don't quite install it where you wanted. **The "fine print"**: --------------------------------- Tile, Tile Pro, and all other trademarks and copyright remain the property of their respective owners, such as Tile. This is simply a case to protect these awesome things!!! Usage, Download, and Makes of this are done entirely at your own risk and liability. I disclaim all warranties expressed or implied, and I'm not "Tile" the company - just a guy who wants to protect his investment.
