Zubat Sculpture

Description

A quick sculpt of Zubat. Literally the worst pokemon to exist. It has no eyes, arms or legs. I used this model to teach myself how to model wings properly. Zbrush was used for the sculpt itself. I used Fusion360 to model the stand. Meshmixer was used to slice the model into printable sections and create the socket for the stand. I found his wings became unprintable if scaled down. (too thin for the line width of my 0.4mm nozzle) I printed at 0.1mm layer height, ~20% infill. Supports are required, as well as build plate adhesion. I used a wider brim than I normally print with because there isn't much of the actual model touching the build plate. If the wings don't generate properly in your slicer try lowering your line width by 0.05 mm. The other option would be to scale up slightly. If you scale it up make sure you scale all the parts to the same value. I super glued the tail portions onto the body. I followed this up with 2 coats of black gesso as a base primer. Followed this with a mixture of blue and violet for the body, and a magenta for the webbing. White was applied to the fangs. All non-primer coats were acrylic paints. He was then super glued into the base and a matte clear coat was applied to preserve the paint job.
