Flashflood Clip for Ender 3 Rail

Flashflood Clip for Ender 3 Rail

Description

Revision 27 June 2019: I have added a hole that passes through the center of the clip so that the wiring can be run neatly through the aluminum channel (named FlashfloodClipforEnder3v2.stl). This serves no real function other than to make the wiring neater. Holes can be useful if they are in the right places. _____ Original Post: This is a mashup of two ideas. I have been searching for a way to illuminate my printer. It sits in a dark corner of the room and could use a bit more light. I created a clip to hold a flashlight from Harbor Freight to help solve the problem (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3679550). It worked well, but I would forget to turn it off and run down the batteries. Those darn things just don't last forever. Then, I saw "The FlashFlood" by Mr_MegaTronic (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:843800). It is a beautiful thing. If you haven't already, you should check it out now. The tinkerer in me saw an opportunity for a mashup between the ideas. So, here we have a FlashFlood clip designed to replace the base of the FlashFlood and enable a person to clip it to the top of the Ender 3. This is a far superior design to my flashlight clip, but it does take some more effort to put together. Still, it is definitely an upgrade to the previous solution. Notes: 1. The clip is designed for the top rail of the Creality Ender 3, which is 20mm x 20mm. It should also fit anything else of the same dimensions. 2. The hardware required is the same as for the base of the FlashFlood. I used an M3-.50x20 machine screw and an M3-.50 nut.
