Anet A6 Y-axis support with belt tensioner
Description
Completely redesigned but based on https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2540258 Thanks chekcian for the basic idea! The purpose for this design was to have the belt tension forces in the center of the threaded rods, and the pulley placed close to the motor to minimize the force on the motor bearings. The uppermost belt is parallel with the heated bed which improves the movement accuracy. The distance between the motor mount and the front panel can be adjusted for each threaded rod and secured by the nuts after install. This way the tension on each rod and the alignment of the front panel can be adjusted. No huge front and back panel braces are needed to give the required stiffness to the frame. Unfortunately to give clearance for the threaded rods, two chamfers of 10 x 10 mm are needed to the mid frame panel. See picture. I used a loose metal saw for this without the need removing the entire mid frame panel. Required fasteners: 4x inside hexagonal bolt M4x25 1x bolt M4x20 or longer 2x nut M4 1x threaded rod M8x310 1x threaded rod M8x380 4x nut M8 with a width across flats of 13 mm (the M8 nuts that came with the Anet A6 have a width across flats of 13.5 mm and don't fit into the printed parts unless they are filed down) Required fasteners that already came with the Anet A6: 4x bolt M3x12 7x bolt M3x18 1x bolt M3x30 9x nut M3 2x washer M8 The original Anet pulley made out of two pieces can be reused but I now use a solid one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32512894329.html Order the pulley "without teeth 16T 3B" because this one has bigger, more robust bearings inside than the pulley with teeth. I can also recommend to install a fiberglass reinforced belt that is much more flexible than the with steel reinforced belt that came with the printer: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32934251683.html All parts were printed with a 0.2 layer height setting, 1.2 wall thickness, 30 percent infill and PETG filament was used. Changes since June 06, 2020: -increased tolerances between the parts -the motor mount is redisiged for better cooling -added a motor mount without floor mounting -added motor mount files with print support
