Limb Difference Bike Adaptation - LimbBo Foundation Bike Cup V2
Description
We are the LimbBo Foundation a registered charity (1180501) based in the UK. Our objective is to help children born with or living with limb differences smile. Amongst lots of other things we design and 3D print adaptions to make living with a limb difference easier for children and help them to complete day to day tasks with a smile :) This is the LimbBo Bike Cup Version 2 We designed this cup to help children with shortened forearms and no hand on one side to ride a bike in a safer and more comfortable manner. The cup is firmly attached to the bike handlebars and with the use of a ball joint and a curved cup, the user can steer the bike using their "nub" by applying light pressure. We currently have over 50 of these cups in use throughout the world. All the main parts can be 3d printed. For the cup to function the attached printing instructions MUST be followed. We have created step by step instructions for the build that are also attached. This project will require a knowledge of slicing software and 3d printing to an intermediate level as well as an understanding of basic tools. WE ALSO HAVE AN EXTENDED CUP VERSION FOR CHILDREN WITH NO OR VERY VERY LITTLE FOREARM WHICH WILL BE RELEASED ON HERE VERY SOON. You will require the following to create a functioning cup. 1x 10mm Ball Joint (link below to the correct type) 1 x M10 x 70mm Bolt 1x M10 x 30mm Bolt 3 x M10 Nylok Nuts 3x M3 Nylok Nuts 3 x M3 x 20mm Allen Head Bolts 4x M10 Washers 3mm Corrugated Rubber Craft foam sheet Foam Padding / Adhesive Felt Gel Superglue Blue Loctite or similar Tools 17mm Extended Socket Socket Extention Bar Ratchet Allen Keys Adjustable Spanner Craft Knife Please follow both the printing and build instructions (attached in the files section) carefully. We cannot take any responsibility for injury or damage caused by it's use or, bad remixing or misprinting. This is not currently an approved medical product and is simply a device made to try and help children ride a bike. This cup has been open sourced to allow others to help limb different children throughout the world :) Enjoy the build! Please visit www.limbbofoundation.co.uk for more details of our work.
