Nato 12 pin female trailer socket
Description
I had purchased a ex Australian Army no5 trailer and I could not find any connectors for sale sub a couple hundred $'s. So i made this thing. It takes 6 x 2.5mm crimp-able connections https://www.te.com/usa-en/product-929975-1.html ( In Australia i got them from here (https://au.rs-online.com/web/p/circular-connector-contacts/3957397/ ). I would suggest you print the single connector test jig and use an additional crimp connector to ensure you know what pin is actually going where as it is sometimes a bit confusing. Just connect a 12V battery ground to the trailer and the + to the tester (really should use a fuse, but if you hear a spark its most probably a ground pin.) The bare minimum is the connector, the lid and outer ring just make it neat. This worked fine for the few weeks i used it, I then managed to get an original NATO plug with the pintle ring.
