Project 399 Super G SuperG+ Front Crossfire Mount (straight, bend, recessed)

Description

UPDATE: 07/16/2019 Project399_-_FrontCrossfireMount_-_Depressed_3525.stl - Ive been running this model the most. I thickened the sides so it provides more lateral stability, improved the chamfer at the sides to make it smoother and I thickened the top section of the riser support so it's less likely to rip or tear when removing the supports. The extra support is definitely noticeable and potentially I may be able to print at something less than 80%. I'll eventually adapt the changes to the other STL's and formats once I get more testing completed. [ x ] 35mm front mount updates [ x ] 30mm front mount updates [ x ] 25mm front mount updates [ x ] 20mm front mount updates [ x ] 15mm retraction mount updates I currently have the original front mounts in addition to the newer version with thicker sidewalls and improved camera support. I'll probably only continue adaptions to the version with more support for the camera since any excess that you don't deem necessary can simply be cut off by hand after printing. ------------ This is a modification/adaption of CrazyJ's front Crossfire Immortal T mount. I tried that version, but I found that it was almost impossible to secure the Immortal T antenna without forcing it into the front mounts or torquing antenna. The supports for the antenna are angulated so it fits the antenna throughout the varying diameter as it extends to the tips of the antenna. I also wanted slightly more control over the length of the antenna away from the carbon and potential adaption for placing the Immortal T behind the camera if necessary (future adaption pending). I also designed it to print a little easier and give the camera a little more lateral support with thicker bulkheads to the side of the camera. I'm expecting to have to tweak if the antenna appears in the feed at low camera angle, but I'd prefer to keep the antenna at the same level of the frame without having to resort it to an underslung design or mounting on the second row of risers. I'm worried that an underslung design will affect the durability due to the angulation and potential exposure of the antenna as it bends around the bottom of the frame. I have the Fusion files if anyone has any ideas and can forward if you'd like. For example, I'm not entirely sold on front camera mounting, but it's good enough for now. Including extension lengths are: - 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, 35mm Including retraction lengths are: - 25mm Including depressed lengths are: - 40mm extension + 25mm depression - 35mm extension + 25mm depression - My current setup. Camera has the most support laterally and it doesnt enter the FOV the FPV camera in any position. Yet to be completed: - [ x ] - Development of an mount to allow the Immortal T to be placed either behind the camera. You should be able to do it with the existing version, but just clip off the camera mount and attach it to the second row of risers. It will float off the arm risers on the second pillar. - [ ] - Adaption to use a full-sized camera mount. For instance, to use the JB adapted micro camera with the clear 3 screw micro camera holder. - [ x ] - Some method to provide more support for the micro camera. This version, as well as CrazyJ's version, only has a single screw into the camera on each side. This is exactly how the JB edition of the micro camera is without the mount, so unclear how this will function as is.
