GoPro Hero7 Mount for Martian II
Description
I modeled this with FreeCad to use for a GoPro Hero 7 on my martian II 250 frame. I chose to make it mount with screws on one end and zip tie on the other so that I can fit longer batteries on top without smashing them into my screen on the GoPro. I chose a slight misalignment between the zip tie opening on the mount and the space at the top of the camera mounts on the frame to give some extra tension to keep the back of the mount down. I use a heavy duty, high quality zip tie and use pliers or needle nose pliers to tie it down tight. I usually put a rectangle shaped piece of 3M VHB across the entire mount beneath the GoPro for extra friction and shock absorption. This does well to keep the camera from sliding to either side while strapped down. I filmed the following video using a similar mount and broke the mount because of some design flaws, and because I had printed it with only 15% infill. This crash is the reason I designed my own mount. I have since tested THIS mount with 100% infill and crashed (not intentionally) and it is much more durable and has not broken. Check out my YouTube channel below https://tinyurl.com/y5s7vov7 Print with 100% infill for the most durable part. I print mine in PLA, but nylon or ABS will also work well for durability. make sure you add auto supports or manually add supports for the strap holes and zip tie holes.
