E3DV6 Mountingset for AC Kossel with Probe

E3DV6 Mountingset for AC Kossel with Probe

Description

Mountingset for E3DV6 on AC Kossel with probe and original case With an E3Dv6-hotend there is no place for the probe due to the bigger heating block. I didn't want to loose the Z-probe so with a little fit and measure I just could place the probe so that it is still centered with the nozzle. Also the original cooler-vent is replaced with another one in the process. The E3Dv6 is shorter then the original hotend, so If you want to use the original case, you need a distance-block. Part 1: Distance-block (customizable if you want): There are two versions included as STL. One for the original E3d bowden-coupler, and one for mounting a traditional coupler at the top. Since the tube goes into the hotend there is no issue with that last setup and your coupler and tube are easier maintainable. Installation of the hotend is the same as with the original one with the exception of placing the distanceblock in between. Tighten the screws crosswise for the best (centered) result. The round insert for the cooling block makes centering a lot easier. When tightening the block compresses a few mm. That is alright and make the construction even more solid. You can make one to your own needs with the included Scad-file or with the TV-customizer. Part 2: Effector-mountingplate with vent and room for probe. If you don't want to loose the probe, you can use this part. The probe is replaced at the side of the heating block. You need to fill the mounting rectangle for the probe with iron (see pictures) or better with little neodymium-magnets (fairly cheap). Both around 3mm thick. With iron the connection works but is a little weak. With magnets the connection is very solid. Be aware that in both solutions you need room for the bolt (again see pictures). The partcooling-vent is at least as effective as the original one. Use PETG or ABS. I used PETG and that still works great after heavy duty (temperatures till 245 C) Because the mounting height of the hotend will vary and so the placing of the vent, there is also a spacer included for the plate included. Tip: Can also be used with other custom casings for the E3DV6. Part 3: The "Hood" This one is more or less for good looks and a little cable-management. It covers the cabling nicely. Since the probe is replaced to the opposite side of the cabling (see pictures) the connection cable must be rerouted to the other side. You can lead it over the front-fan to the other side. The "hood" will cover and protect it. On the other side there is a hole for the connector and a clip if your cable is a little long. The hood is made as light as possible. Tip: For better cable-management bind the cabling to the original case with zip-ties using the round holes at the side Happy hotending :)
