Clover Diamond Effector Warning! This is a proof of concept, I don't have the parts at this point so can't guarantee fit and suitability... ...having said that I have been careful to follow the OEM mechanical specs as closely as possible so I expect this design is 'good'. So what it it? It's an effector for the Anycubic Kossel Plus to fit a Diamond hot end set up, which gives you the ability to print three colours at once and so enable full colour prints - have you guessed what I'm planning? I'm not aware of a Diamond set up for is printer so I thought I'd make one. Unlike other Diamond Kossel effectors I have set the mounting points as low down as possible to keep the nozzle in a fairly standard position so easing set up and not cutting in to the build height. Yes there's no attachment for a height probe, I may well update the design to use the Anycubic probe. As it stands there's nothing stopping you tapping a couple of holes in the base plate for the OEM mounting hardware. Yes, it's a single fan design so keep that in mind when setting up your firmware. The fan needs to be on ALL THE TIME with the ability to ramp up when you want extra cooling for your parts. Parts: Apart from the Diamond nozzle, and associated hardware, you will need three E3D_J6 hot ends, and three of everything else! High temp Bowden tube isn't a bad idea and don't forget to buy some of that heat-resistant cloth for isolating the Diamond nozzle from the rest of the setup - that nozzle kicks out a lot of heat and you also don't want the cooling fan cooling anything other than the J6's... and your part. This design utilises a single 50mm fan I would strongly suggest printing out three of my Ex_38 extruders because IMO they are bloody good, easy to make, and light on parts. Construction should be a matter of following the piccies, the black band is a cable-tie. The hardest part will be choosing suitable positions for three sets of extruders, associated hardware, and three filament reels - personally I'd just duplicate Anycubic's set up. Driver board: Most of the above isn't that expensive but sadly your perfectly good Trigorilla driver board 'only' supports five driver motors - you'll now need six. You will therefore be needing a replacement, or at the very least botching in a driver add-on module should you be feeling adventurous! Software: I believe Marlin is fully capable of supporting full colour prints but will likely need a good deal of tweaking. Having said that if you have to invest in a new driver board it's probably a good idea to investigate all firmware options first, as well as your slicer options. FWIW: I can see this being a really awesome upgrade to an already very good printer for those who need full colour prints but don't want to spend thousands on a professional printer. For those of us who see 3D printing as more of a hobby I wonder if this is a step too far... -The parts list is fairly long -Firmware and slicer considerations -Running costs! Upkeep of three (CMY) filament reels, unless the Diamond can be run in single filament mode for 'normal' prints.
