Jailhouse Spacer v1.2
Description
After trying the couple of Jailhouse spacers on Thingiverse and being kinda disappointed with the results I decided to make my own. This was tested using Cherry MX Blues but will be tested with other switches down the line. Currently there is only 1 spacer placed on the bed. Once I've perfected the design, I'll add more depending on the percentage of the keyboard. -10/7/19- First test with Cherry MX Blue switches. I started with a height of 1.3mm and found that to be too thick and caused issues with getting the switch to return to the home position. I then took 0.1mm off and had no issues with the bottom of the housing for the switch returning to the home position, however once the top of the switch was put on the switch wouldn't return due to the spacer having corners that jam against the top of the switch. After trimming down the corners with a knife I was able to get the switch to work, but I've not printed a new version with altered corners. -14/7/19- After printing the updated version and testing it out it works with no issues as long as the spacer is inserted correctly between the stem and the click jacket. To check if it's inserted correctly, look at the stem from the top and check to see if there is any of the spacer visible. If you can't see any of the spacer then it's installed correctly, if you can see a small part of the spacer poking out of the side then push the part you can see until it's covered by the top of the stem. Given time I'll still be updating this to make it perfect, if you have any issues then please let me know. After trying the spacer with some other switches, the spacer seems to be ever so slightly too tall. If you're looking to use this then please alter the Z height from 1.3mm to 1.2 or 1.25. I'll be testing these heights over the next couple of days but I'll update the file in time.
