Servo Drive Piston - InMoov Articulating Stomach Linear Actuator M8 x 100mm
Description
Working on a mod to Bob Houston's Articulating Stomach for Gael Langevin's InMoov (Stomach: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1409964) (InMoov: www.InMoov.fr) Here is a video of the lead screw modifications in action: https://youtu.be/mc-7YwHAWjU This drive rod will greatly refine the lean forward/backward (and side bending) positioning capability for the InMoov. The assembled piston provides 76mm of travel. Testing with an HK-15338 Mega Servo provides 6mm of travel in 5 seconds using the M8 Bolt. It makes use of a mega servo hacked for continuous rotation. The pot is outside the servo, set at 90* (mid point) and stowed away. (Am changing this and adding a rack & pinion gear system to feedback position to the servo pot.) Brakes are not required for this system, nor continuous ON state for the servos. The 1.25 pitch bolt thread will hold its position, as should the 2mm pitch lead screw. I've added pot feedback with rack & pinion. See initial parts uploaded: Art_Stomach_Pot_Frame_Back_v8.stl - for both the side bending and fwd/bkwd units. Art_Stomach_LS_Drive_Stab v8.stl - for the fwd/bkwd unit *** SCALE the pot gear below up 9.5% so enter 109.5% for the scale *** InMoovS_gearpotentioV1.stl - from the InMoov.fr website - Elbow InMoovGearHolderV1.stl - from the InMoov.fr website - Elbow The base contains an 8mm captive nut, and the same is used for the drive mechanism (of your choosing when you adapt this to other purposes.) Use support when printing TS_Servo_Holder_Bobs.stl, Art_Stomach_Piston_Drive_Nut_v6.stl and Art_Stomach_SB_Ball v3.stl The servo holder and drive link are held in place via captive ball joints. Mount the drive link with the ball above the nut. Art_Stomach_SB_Ball v3.stl is for the side bending servo. You can get rid of the slave. I think I'll use micro switches on each side to signal the limit. TS_Side_Pivot_Socket_sup.STL is another of Bob's original files. It goes around the Art_Stomach_SB_Ball v3.stl for the side bending captive nut driver. 7/16/19 Added Parts to support use of M8 2mm Pitch 3D Printer Lead Screw which moves 8mm in 1 rotation. Art_Stomach_Lead_Screw v5.stl, Art_Stomach_LS_Ball v4.stl (for the side bending), Art_Stomach_LS_Drive_Nut v2.stl for the forward/backward leaning.
