Icosahedron Coin Jar
Description
**<font size=7>Icosahedron Coin Jar</font>** **Dimensions** (assembled, upright): 110mm width *x* 130mm depth *x* 103mm height *NOTE: I have only tested this print in PETG.* *NOTE: I Included a version with no text and a version with no text or slot.* *NOTE: Over-rotation by a couple degrees is possible when threading, but it will hold its correct orientation easily. A future version may include a thread stop if I come back to this project.* A *regular icosahedron* is a platonic solid with 20 equilateral triangle faces. This icosahedron coin jar was partly inspired by space stations in the game Elite Dangerous, as well as my interest in geometry. ![Alt Text](https://media.giphy.com/media/XZyXePdPItBttagVJo/giphy.gif) The coin jar prints in two halves that thread together. ![Alt Text](https://media.giphy.com/media/h7Wa4JYMfr1zANq2K9/giphy.gif) On my Prusa i3 MK3, the print took about 12 hours at 0.2mm layer height. ![Alt Text](https://i.imgur.com/UzAUFW5.jpg) Layout the parts in your favorite slicer as shown above for best results. Makes a great gift or decorative piece for the house!
