Giant Killer Robots: Heavy Hitters Storage Solution
Description
** Update: January 2021** - Happy new year everyone! I've uploaded an even looser fitting version of the tray for the Ultrasweet (pink) Heavy Hitter [*GKR - Heavy Hitter Storage (Side_A, Loosest Fit).stl*], following feedback that the last revision was still a little tight. This revision adds another 1mm across the entire slot (0.5mm on each side), so hopefully this is roomy enough. That said, happy for any feedback if people do run into issues with this. Thanks as always for your interest! **Update: July 2020** - I've uploaded a 'loose fit' version of the tray for the Ultrasweet (pink) Heavy Hitter [*GKR - Heavy Hitter Storage (Side_A, Loose Fit).stl*], following feedback that the fit was too tight. I did find this more snug than the others initially, but assumed it was a calibration issue on my side when printing. Hopefully the new file addresses this (as I've added an extra 0.5mm to the slot the base fits into). My apologies to anyone who has experienced problems with this, and thank you for the patience as it's taken me way longer than I thought it would to rectify this. --- This is a partial storage solution for Weta's GKR - Heavy Hitters board game. It is designed to store the Sweet and Salty expansion along with the rest of the game, without taking more space than the existing two boxes (Core Game + Kickstarter stretch goals box). This solution allows for the following to be stored in the core game box: * Heavy Hitter models for all factions (3 upright, 3 on their sides) * Support unit models for all factions (3 per rack) * Big Little Buddy model (stored next to the 3 upright Heavy Hitters) * Mercenary unit models (3 per rack, some empty spaces) * 10 plastic building models (20 pieces, some empty spaces) * Game board (tucked away underneath everything) Building caps and bases, player boards, cards, tokens, dice, pilots and all other components not mentioned above are stored in the Kickstarter stretch goals box. I haven't worried about designing a storage solution for this as there are already a number of excellent ideas over on BGG. This is designed for horizontal storage, but you may be able to add some magnets to make this work for vertical storage. You may also want to add felt or a soft material to the bottoms of parts to stop them gouging the game board, though I don't think this will be necessary as there's a decent amount of clearance with the box lid on flush. Notes -------- * To store as per the included photos, you will need to print the following: ### >* **3** x GKR_-_Heavy_Hitter_Storage_Upright.stl >* **1** x GKR_-_Big_Little_Buddy_Storage.stl >* **1** x GKR_-_Heavy_Hitter_Storage_Side_A.stl (or loose/loosest fit variant as required, see updates) >* **1** x GKR_-_Heavy_Hitter_Storage_Side_B.stl >* **1** x GKR_-_Heavy_Hitter_Storage_Side_C.stl >* **4** x GKR_-_Support_Unit_Storage_Top.stl >* **4** x GKR_-_Support_Unit_Storage_Bottom.stl >* **6** x GKR_-_Urban_Wasteland_Building_Storage.stl * In the photos, you may notice that my building are stored using parts with two different thicknesses. This was due to a measurement error on my part that I corrected part-way through. The file has been corrected here, and allows for all six of these parts to be printed at the same size.
