Lulzbot Taz 6 Electronics Case - Case Mount Offset Relocation for Extra Chassis Reinforcement

Lulzbot Taz 6 Electronics Case - Case Mount Offset Relocation for Extra Chassis Reinforcement

Description

Welcome! The Taz 6 has relatively basic chassis reinforcement. When you're printing, minor shifts in the frame can translate into the print quality. On the Taz Pro, Lulzbot decided to add inside 90 degree corner brackets to all corners of the frame. I wanted to do the same to the Taz 6, but unfortunately the mounts for the Electronics Case were in my way. Enter this mod. Print this mod with ABS on 0.33mm layer height with 95% infill. CRITICAL NOTE: The "Top" mounts have to have the tab facing upwards. If you install them tab facing downwards, the Left Z-axis bearing assembly will hit the mount before the Z-stop endswitch and will throw your axis off kilter, or possibly damage something. As usual, all of this is done at your own risk. Remove your old mounts, install these mounts (be careful about the t-nuts sliding!), and then you can install additional corner brackets to stiffen the chassis! On the Taz Pro, they also upgraded their outside mount corner brackets, so I upgraded those as well with similar ones from Amazon. The corner parts I upgraded the Taz 6 to use (with the help of this mod) were: - Boeray 2028 Black Aluminum Corner Bracket (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B077S696P7/) - Boeray Black L Shape 2020 Aluminum Extrusion Corner Bracket Outside Joining Plate (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07HF8TRNS/) As always, this mod is done at your own risk. I accept no responsibility whatsoever for the user of this mod. This will also likely void your warranty with Lulzbot. Happy modding!
