Media dispenser for 96-well filter plates
Description
Device to add media to 96-well filtration plates. Fit standard filtration plates (where top of plate is approximately 125 x 83 mm); wells add about 150 uL in volume of media. I use this to add silica to filtration plate in screening chemistry experiments; little tap and it all falls in. Assembled with cyanoacrylate glue; holes in knob and drop plate are about 2.5 mm and were manually threaded with a 4-40 screw; screw was cut to appropriate size and a piece of compression spring was added before the knob to make it spring-loaded - can adjust the proper "push length" by adjusting the screw and spring length. EDIT: silica does get in-between the pieces due to its small particle size so we rinse out every now and then; unsure how long it will last so something to keep in mind.
