Corsair Obsidian 1000D 8x 120mm Fan Tray Replacement

Corsair Obsidian 1000D 8x 120mm Fan Tray Replacement

Description

This is a set of brackets I designed as a commission to be a substitution for a hard to find and scarce Corsair 8x 120mm fan tray used in one of their monster cases. The full tray is far too large to print on most 3D printers (something like 500x260mm), I instead opted to make individual brackets that can be screwed together to make a self-supporting fan assembly. These brackets were made based on measurements and a basic flat model given to me by the commissioner, so I have no way knowing if the final product actually works since I don't have the case in question. The 3ds max file is provided if you need the source to modify the brackets. The first picture shows half of the assembly built up using four 120mm fans. I didn't have eight of them on hand to build up the full assembly, so if you can picture a mirror image of these four fans to make up the other half of it will be the full assembly. The second picture is the exact number of brackets you need to print to build the full assembly. Brackets are used on both sides of the fan to make sandwich about 33mm thick. From reference pictures, this should fit just fine in the case. No holes are provided in the end brackets for mounting to the rails because I couldn't get an accurate measurement of where they should go, so you'll have to drill these out manually. Screws used for the bracket are generic case fan screws, you'll need a lot of them.
