Surface Pro 4 Vertical Dock with Cutouts for Cables

Surface Pro 4 Vertical Dock with Cutouts for Cables

Description

# Motivation and Design Wanted a way to make my Surface Pro 4 Usable at my desk when I was not inking. This vertical stand allows for the standard surface pro charger to go into place. A USB hub such as the [one by Anker](https://www.anker.com/products/variant/4port-ultra-slim-usb-30-hub/A7518113) works fine for this purpose. I had hot glued the charger and hub in place so I could slide my surface pro 4 in and made sure everything was connected. There is also a cutout for the minidisplay port connector. # Notes * The surface is secured by a friction fit, the magnesium alloy finish may get scuffed up. * Even if you print 100% infill, once you dock the surface into the dock, it will be top heavy and is susceptible to toppling. * This was my first functional design ever, the provided Fusion 360 file *is* messy. # Renders and Credit * [Salvo Bertolami (madeincad)](https://grabcad.com/salvo.bertolami.madeincad-1) designed the SP4 model used in the renders and the model can be attained [here on grabcad.com](https://grabcad.com/library/microsoft-surface-pro-1) * Renders done in Fusion 360
