Midwest Gas Can - Pour Spout & Can

Midwest Gas Can - Pour Spout & Can

Description

New design Pour Spout and separate Gas Can Cap to replace the "so called" spill proof nozzle. These seal perfectly and work very well. Easy to use. No leaks. No spills. I have a video showing how to modify the original nozzle, which comes with these gas cans, but it is still clumsy and the can does not always seal well. I also designed a dust cap for the modified original nozzle thing:3759927. I decided to design a Gas Can Cap with an o-ring to prevent gasoline from leaking and spilling when going to the gas station to refill the can. I also designed a new Pour Spout with an o-ring, which has its own vent hole and pours smoothly when trying to fill something small like a lawn mower gas tank. My pour spout can be used without spilling or dripping gas. There is also a Pour Spout Cap to keep the Pour Spout clean. I recommend loosening the Pour Spout and Gas Can Cap when in storage to prevent the gas can from pressurizing and it is easier on the 3D printed part. There is a video on the design and use of the Pour Spout and Gas Can Cap. Midwest Gas Can - New Pour Spout & Cap https://youtu.be/p3BW8SNs4Kc My Pour Spout and Gas Can Cap were designed for and tested on the 5-gallon can shown. The Pour Spout is intended to align with the mold seam on the can when gently tightened (watch the video). There are three files given for the Pour Spout and NORMAL has worked for me. One that is A LITTLE LOOSER (screws on a few degrees more) and one that is A LITTLE TIGHTER (screws on a few degrees less) are also given. O-ring used: McMaster Carr P/N 1171N208 (pack of 10) 3mmWide x 35mm ID x 41mm OD A good deal of time and expense incurred developing and testing these new fittings. Tips are gladly accepted and much appreciated. My Cura Settings: Note: The PLA suffered discoloration and failure after 1-1/2 years in the presence of gasoline (petrol) and gasoline vapor. I have switched to PETG for making the nozzles and caps. Only time will tell how the PETG performs in the presence of gasoline. Pour Spout printed (threads pointing down) 0.12 or 0.2 Layer, 45% Random Infill 20% ZigZag Support touching build plate only with a skirt. The support removes and cleans up easily for a good o-ring seal. Pour Spout Cap printed (open end facing up) 0.12 or 0.2 Layer, 45% Random Infill with a skirt.
