Magnetic General Purpose Utility Hook / Holder for Tool Key Rag Towel etc.
Description
*UPDATE* Use the "Thing Files" tab if you get the 404 error after selecting "Download All Files". My original reason for designing and making this hook/holder is for use in my glass shower to hang a loofah or rag on but I also ended up using it all around the house. My glass shower walls are 0.230" / 5.8mm thick. You will need to print 2 hooks and purchase a set of 1" N52 grade magnets if you want to use it in a shower. The round shaft portion of the hook is approximately 8mm. I purchased the magnets from K&J Magnetics (I would post a link but do not know if that is allowed). I buy them in pairs but they can be bought singles and varying strengths. Magnet part numbers: RC22CS-P-N52 - 3/4" o.d. x 1/8" thick with countersunk hole for #8 screw RX033CS-P-N52 - 1" o.d. x 3/16" thick countersunk hole accepts #10 screw Flathead Screws (18-8 SS): 8/32 x 1/2" 10/32 x 1/2" The screw threading holes are larger than drill spec size for screws. They are 0.177" / 4.5mm dia. hole for the 1" model and 0.126" / 3.2mm dia. hole for the 3/4" model. I use the screw to thread the holes, not a tap. I have had no issues with the screws coming loose or stripping during installation/threading.
