DIY plywood sliding baby/ pet gate
Description
i designed this to solve my sliding pet gate needs. i have a hallways that spans 53" and most pet gates arent that wide... so on one wall i can mount the hook portion and use a few of those to keep the plywood close to the wall when sliding. the other end is to recieve the wood when in the locked position. chamfers to make the screws sit flat and i would advise wall anchors unless you are screwing these into studs. the file "gate1" is .75" wide inside and the receiving end, "gate 2", is .5" wide inside. im using .5" plywood or thinner because moving sliding a 6ft. piece of plywood can get heavy at higher thickness. so i advise .5" or less plywood. i might even incorperate little simple wheels to help the sliding portion or felt on the bottom of the plywood to aide in sliding.
