Funcopter Tail Boom Upgrade
Description
These parts are to swap the stock aluminum tail boom with a carbon fiber tube. My tube was 12mm OD and 10mm ID. Cut to same length as stock boom. This slides on the outside of the tail boom to hold the servo push rod. Print 1 (Front) FunCopterFrontBoomPushRodHolder.stl This slides on the outside of the tail boom to hold the servo push rod. Print 1 (Rear) FunCopterRearBoomPushRodHolder.stl These slide inside your carbon fiber boom to hold the torque tube in the center. Print 4 (distribute them equally inside the tail boom) Oil. FuncopterTrqTubeInsert.stl These Plug into each end of the new boom. Print 2 (I glued the tail end that goes on the tail side to make sure it wouldn't get stuck in the tail section) Funcopter round tube converter Simple.stl Drill the holes out of the parts to make more space for the torque tube. You will continue to use the stock torque tube and gears. You will have to drill 2 small holes in the new boom in the same places as the old aluminum tail boom. It may be easier to mark the hole for the screw that holds the tail on by sliding on the tail first. The screw that holds the tail section on is a bit long, you might want to add a few washers or get a shorter screw. I haven't tried to put the rear canopy on again yet. I'm not sure if this is an upgrade or just an easy way to make a replacement. The way heli's are, when you strengthen one part it just moves crash damage to another part nearby :-)
