Gotek 5.25" Mounting Bracket
Description
This bracket is for mounting a Gotek floppy emulator PCB inside a 5.25" drive bay. It has front panel mounts for a 2.23" 128x32 OLED, a rotary encoder, and a USB socket. All of these components need to be wired back to the Gotek PCB. The orientation of the panel components is reversed compared to most brackets, because this is designed to fit in an E-mu Emulator II sampler where the floppy bay is on the left-hand side of the keyboard. Putting the OLED on the right allows the screen to remain visible while the rotary encoder is turned. The bracket is designed to be printed flat, and then folded into shape with the snap-fit living hinge joints. This avoids the need for any support material, but as a result of that a large print area is required (23cm x 18cm) If the snap-fit joints break when you fit them you may need to try a newer or better quality filament. My own bracket was printed using "ANYCUBIC" black filament from Amazon UK. The additional electronic parts used are: Encoder - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/x/183813474065 USB breakout - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/x/232686107596 OLED - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/x/192568293514 Installation requires experience with electronics - Jumpers on the OLED to convert it to i2c mode instead of SPI - The original USB socket needs to be desoldered from the PCB and jumper headers put in its place - Pull-up resistors need to be removed from the encoder, if present, and header pins soldered to the back rather than front of the encoder board. Support for the above will not be provided here. If you need assistance, I suggest you join the "FlashFloppy" group on Facebook and also read the FlashFloppy Wiki.
