PetSafe Wi-Fi 2-way feed diverter
Description
** UPDATE on 8/25 *** Same concept, much more efficient redesign - removed some of the 'remnants' from early design phases, and redesigned the hopper and pipe parts. Now it prints in about 1/2 the time, and has larger diameter pipes and thinner walls for less filament use. ****** NOTE ***** Measure the distance from the floor to the top of your feed bowls, and trim the underside of the chutes to allow clearance for your dish prior to printing!! -- Original on 8/24 *** My daughter has 2 cats, and for portion control reasons, I purchased this metered feeder to keep them fed the right amount. However, the one large metal bowl provided caused some "sharing issues". So, I designed this feed diverter to split the output into two side-by-side plastic bowls so that both of the cats can eat at the same time, and as an added bonus, the plastic is MUCH quieter than the steel bowl that came with the feeder :) Designed to fit so it cannot be removed by the animals, the base gets secured in the lip under the feeder that held the metal bowl retainer in place. I used PLA for the main print and for support, but use whatever you're comfortable with - the support inside the output chute was not terribly difficult to remove, if printed perpendicular to the main material. Layer height and infill aren't terribly important - I did mine at .32mm height and 15% infill. This took about 2 weeks to design, tweak, and ultimately print, so if you enjoy it and benefit from it, I would gladly accept tips - in any event, PLEASE give me credit if you re-use it! :D
