Rigid foldable origami with flexible joints

Rigid foldable origami with flexible joints

Description

A single piece of a larger rigid foldable origami structure being used by SAGA Space Architects in developing a deployable Moon habitat. To see its function, check out this video: https://www.instagram.com/p/B01w1ijHpM-/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet It's printed using two filaments. PLA for the rigid panels and TPU for the inlaid flexible joints. Since I don't have a dual extrude, the print process is a little complicated. But put simply, I first print the bottom PLA part, then change filament and print the TPU joints in between, and finally change back to PLA to print the top part, fusing it all together.
