WIP Electric Upright Bass

WIP Electric Upright Bass

Description

This is a WIP remix of the O'Cello that is scaled from the cello fingerboard to the fingerboard of a full-sized upright bass. It also has a crudely redesigned bottom part. After about a week of printing around the clock, it was easily assembled and tuned and played. It used a 3/4 in. diameter 4 ft. long steel rod in construction. It also incorporated Musiclily Bass Guitar Tuning Pegs Keys (from Amazon). The instrument was assembled entirely with super glue and holds steady. I used cheap full-sized upright bass strings but they were far too long and caused tuning issues. Overall, the instrument is playable but is incredibly quiet and needs amplification. Its tone is also very metallic and raw (probably from the cheap strings). There are still improvements to be made. Things to do: 1. The holes inside each piece are slightly smaller than the pole and need to be increased. I had to tediously sand each piece to get a snug fit. 2. The pole extends midway through Part6S2. This is yet to include some type of end pin. 3. I need to install some amplification system as it is barely audible. Feel free to remix and improve! I hope you enjoy this project.
