SCUP Version 1.0

SCUP Version 1.0

Description

I enjoy an iced tea with crushed ice now and then, but I don’t want to use single-use straws to prevent the inevitable slurping sounds that’d disrupt a quiet office. Yesterday, I designed and printed out this scoop cup I call SCUP Version 1.0. Disclaimer: THIS IS A DRAFT WORK_IN_PROGRESS AND SO IS EXPERIMENTAL. NO WARRANY IS INTENDED OR IMPLIED. MAKE AND USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHOOSING THE PROPER MATERIAL FOR YOUR PRINTER, FOR MONITORING ITS OPERATION, AND FOR ALL STEPS IN THE CREATION AND FINISHING OF OBJECTS. USE ONLY FOOD_SAFE MATERIAL. KEEP YOUR PRINTER CLEAN AND IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. DO NOT USE OBJECTS THAT ARE POORLY PRINTED, BROKEN, OR OTHERWISE INCOMPLETE. CLOSE COVER BEFORE STRIKING. NEVER EAT ANYTHING BIGGER THAN YOUR HEAD. NEVER CARRY A CAT HOME BY ITS TAIL. BE NICE TO STRANGERS. PLEASE USE COMMON SENSE. Scary language over. I specified a minimum of 3 layers of PLA, ran it at a 35% fill density, and, for extra security, sealed the inner surface by melting it a tiny bit with a solvent (to let it evaporate before suing). It keeps the ice away, and is easy to use and clean: I drew a large radius between the bottom of the SCUP and the sides, so that one could clean it without straining one's hands. I just tried it out at my local watering hole and it works great! Your results may vary. Have some fun with this.
