Lasercut Sci-Fi Tabletop Box

Lasercut Sci-Fi Tabletop Box

Description

**Brazen Mammoth's** Miniature Storage Terrain Box ================================= This box is designed to be a **Sci-fi terrain** piece and a **storage box for your miniatures** at the same time. I created it for using the **Star Wars: Legion** *foam inlays by Feldherr* but of course you can use anything you like. You could even design the interior to be used in gameplay! ### How to make This thing is meant to be lasercut from mdf or (as I did) cardboard. I used a *15W DIY Eleksmaker clone laser engraver* to cut the parts from finnboard. (I highly recommend this material for lasercutting if you don't know it yet.) + You'll need some *2.5mm board* for the base parts but the detail parts do not neccessarily have to be cut from exactly 1mm thin material since they are just greebles to add texture to the surfaces. + The files are tagged with a 25 or a 10 to indicate from which material thickness they should be made. ### Laser Cut Settings There is three kinds of lines to engrave or cut: + **CUT** These are meant be fully cut through the material. Make sure you cut the detail parts from thinner material than the basic parts. + **ENGRAVE** These should be engraved deep enough to still be visible after painting the model. + **MARK** Just lightly engrave these lines as guides where to glue parts onto each other. ### Modification I'm sure this modular box is pretty easy to modify for everone who knows how to work with vector tool, so I'll always give you my latest Adobe Illustrator file to make it even easier for you. The modular design gives you the opportunity to simply create completely new or just altered modules based on the ones I already made. **So show me what you got!** I might add good design ideas to my files or recommend your remixes on this page. Of course I'll share more compatible designs with you whenever I made some. Happy lasering and building!
