Description

Because I had an old Sony Vaio laptop laying around with no use I decided to recycle some parts of it. I designed this speaker housing for the two tiny speakers which have a diameter of 36mm. With clear two componend glue I attached the spacer rings and the grills to the speakers and then these two modules into the frame. The spacers ensure that the membranes do not touch the grills. I wanted to use this speaker on my raspberry pi, so I needed a small amplifier board (PAM8403) for the audio signal and an old headphone plug soldered to it. I soldered the speakers to the output of the board and two wires for the power supply. Since the amplifier just needs 5V I connected these two wires directly to the GPIO pins of the pi (5V and GND). The base is attached to the frame with one screw (Ø 3mm) of the old laptop. There are three faces where you can attach some rubber feet (Ø 8mm) under the base. The amplifier board I used: https://www.ebay.de/itm/252797545663
