Big Delta Effector for E3D V6 Volcano hotend
Description
Decided to upgrade from the trusty old J-Head to the all-metal Volcano hotend to experiment with some bigger layer heights so I had to do a complete redesign of the original effector for the Big Delta 3d printer. Nothing to amazing with the design, I decided to drop the hotend lower then the original design to make monitoring prints easier and the new fan duct puts out more air directly where its needed vs the old design that I found had trouble effectively cooling the print. Printing is pretty straight forward, for the fan duct you can print it on its side, or print it upside down with supports but printing it on its side worked well for me. Currently the only issue I've had running the volcano hotend over J-Head is at bigger nozzle sizes the Suspensed "sextruder" design with planetary geared nema11 isn't fast enough to effectively feed filament at high speeds. Where I can print up to 100mm/s with a .4mm nozzle at .3mm LH I had to slow it down to up to 70mm/s with a .8mm nozzle at .6mm LH. Credit to justinledwards who designed the big delta and the effector I based this design off of. Hardware needed, various m3 screws, brass m3 threaded inserts (if you don't want to thread into plastic) and fans.
