1968 Camaro Hump Hugger drink caddy
Description
9/17/2019 1030 Have most of it glued, went and tried to fit it in and had to break off two parts on the sides that would have go under the carpet but cant fit. I will have to post process (rotary tool) and cut more off for it to fit. The cup holders and storage space seems perfect but getting it under the carpet will need some cutting. Not bad for my largest design and printing on such a tiny printer. My mom has a 1968 Camaro and apparently cup holders didn't exist in 68. They do sell a "hump hugger" for like $100. So I designed this. I had to cut the thing in to a bunch of parts in order to print on the mini delta (Ø110mm [Ø4.3inch]). It was designed to hold soda cans or 16oz water bottles. The actual hump hugger that couldbe purchased has a curve to it for the hump part, I made this flat to use the carpet to hold it in place or velcro. The car has a "hump" from the drive train and it has carpet that overlaps. You could lower the models (in cura at least) and cut off the bottom and no need for supports. Pending the final part is printing then lining up, gluing and or or drilling holes and using screws. I may make a version 2 with holes for press fit pegs and or glue. I used rafts on two of the parts, supports on 4 parts. 6 of the 12 parts could be optional. 4 of the 12 parts take 4+ hours to print @ 50mm/sec. The supports can be a pain to remove (15% support triangles) I used hemostats, needle nose pliers and a set of husky dental pics. I will take a photo when it is all assembled and installed in the car. You could print half of the items for a single can holder if you like.
