Maxi Case for Arduino Uno CNC Shield v3 with connectors
Description
I designed this case for my own use. But why another case? Because I don't like all the small cases, where cables are not sorted and if I want to unplug my machine, I can not unplug the case without opening it. For those who have the same problem - here is my solution: Case dimensions: 136 x 104 x 63 mm I use very often the aviation plugs (16mm), because you can choose the number of pins you want to use. For the endstops I used a 15 pin D-sub connector. Hole for the electricity for CNC shield. Holes for (sorry only in german) Werkzeuglängensensor and Tastplatte. In front of the case, there is a hole for an emergency stop knob. On top of the case, you can screw a 40x40mm fan for cooling the stepper drivers. Cooling output is on the bottom. So it's useful to stick some "feet" on the bottom, to have a little space between the case and the table. UPDATE #2: (version 1.2 in all files) This update is only a litte makup for the case. I changed the descriptions for the aviation plugs, so it's a litte bit clearer where the motors should be connected. I also had a problem with my 15 pin d-sub, that mine was too big (or my cut out in the case too small). I added 1mm in height, so it should fit for all. UPDATE #1: (version 1.1 in Gehäuse Unterteil_v1.1.stl) After printing the bottom case, I noticed that the feet of the arduino are too small (because of the soldered points of the arduino). In version "Gehäuse Unterteil_v1.1" I liftet them up for 2mm (now it's totally 3mm). I also changed the openings for the USB port and the DC power port. The top of the case fits perfectly. You can secure the top with screws. PS: for those who already printed out the lower case, don't throw it away! Just use a knife or cutter to higher the USB and power port. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Information #1: If you use more than two stepper motors (8 wires) you'll need to connect the other motors to the "Reserve"-aviation plug, because I only found aviation plugs with max 10 pins. Information #2: I leave all the old files online, if somebody needs them.
