Edsal Muscle Rack Shelf Top Bracket
Description
This is a top mount bracket to add an additional shelf to an Edsal (aka Muscle Rack) storage rack. For my purposes I had split the shelving unit into two so I was left with one part that had the uprights sticking up in the air, serving no purpose. So I designed this bracket to slide over the end of the upright. I have included the following files: - STL file - Fusion 360 f3d file - STEP file for those not using Fusion 360 Supplies needed: - 1x2 inch lumber - 1/3 inch plywood or similar for the shelf Notes: - Each bracket will use ~75g of filament when printed with 1.6 mm walls and 35% infill. - The holes in the bracket are for adding a bolt and hardware, should you want to tie everything together better. Not really needed though as the uprights are already pretty stable and the 1x2's fit tightly into the bracket. - The angle cut on the 1x2's is 45 degrees. - You need to use supports for the over hang part on each side of the groove. Important: Make sure to block out the supports in the grooves. Otherwise they will be hard to get out. Printer has no issues bridging the groove at the top. Credit for the original end cap I based this on goes to jcantalupo: (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2061320). I extended the groove to make the bracket stronger.
