Sig Sauer P365 Magazine Baseplate
Description
EDIT: This part is still working great on my dad's magazine, and I recently printed another one for one of my magazines which also had no issues and works just like the stock ones! This is a replacement part for the baseplate of the magazine for the Sig P365. My dad wanted to replace the pinky extended one with the standard end, but he didn't want to buy a whole other magazine, so I built this model from scratch based on the flat one that he already had. The angles aren't exactly right, but it fits perfectly and is very strong; from three feet away the printed one is indistinguishable from the original. I am new to CAD, so I couldn't figure out how to get the curved angle on the front edge, but this was fixed during the post processing phase; my dad used a belt sander to slowly take off material from the front edge until the angle was right and it was flush with the grip. Reducing the layer height made the sanding easier, but made the part weak enough that it could be broken off the magazine by hand. With the 0.2mm layer height, my dad could not break the part off the magazine by hand, and he has fired approximately 20 full mags so far with zero issues.
