SpotCorgi Chassis
Description
Work In Progress - see https://spotcorgi.net for updates, youtube links and project history. Please let me know if you find any problems. This is a new design inspired by the SpotMicro model by KDY0523 but using all new parts except for the legs which have been shortened to reduce servo load. The hip joints have been removed and replaced by bearing-supported fixed angle joints. The base plate has been designed to include a holder for 4 x 18650 batteries, a power regulator, PCA9685 servo controller and Nano. The redesign of the baseplate means it becomes the main structural component allowing for the side panels and end plates to be reduced in size and printed at lower density to reduce weight. New semi-cylindrical top and bottom covers have been created. The included servo horn model has a taller boss than standard to fully engage the servo when the hip bearing is in place. Some photos show the development chassis using off-board Mega for control. The Nano is placed to show position but is not connected. Very rough code for testing is on github if you search "SpotCorgi". Bolts, bearings and any other hardware not mentioned here are from the original SpotMicro design. You don’t need all those parts so do an inventory of what you need first: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3445283 This thing was made with Tinkercad.
