Bowden Remote Control for Models and Toys
Description
Created a "remote control" like it was used on 1950's toy cars (i.e. Schuco) using bycicle parts. The steering wheel turns a gear-switch-wire inside a stiff plastic tube and allows to turn the steering wheel of toys and models i.e. my Wilesco steam roller D365. Now you can steer while the car or whatever is running. Parts needed: 1x bycicle bowden wire for the gear shifters (bike shop) 1x stiff plastic tube for bowden wires (bike shop) 1x m3 screw 1x metal tube that fits over the screw Glue 1x printed "Handle rounded" or "Handle big" 1x printed "Head" 1x printed "Wheel" Assembly: Print all 3 parts. Glue the bowden wire into the hole in the middle of the steering wheel. Glue the stiff plastic tube to the hole in the handle. Put the bowden wire thru the plastic tube. Make sure that it can turn freely. Glue the steering head to the end of the wire that sticks out of the plastic tube. Use the screw and metal tube to create a handle for the steering wheel. You can fasten the steering head to the steering wheel of your steam roller using rubber bands.
