if you dont want to use longer screws to hold it on you can do 2 things. lower the position of this on the slicer bed to make it thinner or you can keep the screws you have in the fan body and gently put just a little super glue to hold this on top of the fan and you put the allen wrench through it to tighten the screws to secure the fan
