15mm LWS Tilta to cheap Arca Swiss extension adapter base plate
Description
After purchasing a $200+ Tilta Cage for my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K (same cage as the 4K). I thought it was a bit excessive to spend another $119 to buy an LWS baseplate adapter that Titla built into the base of the camera cage. What looks like an Arca Swiss standard is slightly larger (just large enough to not work with Arca Swiss mounts). This adapter extension allows you to take a $9-$15 adjustable Arca Swiss quick release baseplate and convert it into an LWS baseplate. Hopefully saving you $110 in the process. Printed on a $170 ender 3, I would say this is a good ROI. Setup is simple (use exploded view for reference). - Remove the large hex screw from the outside of the black thumb screw using an allen key. - Inside the thumbscrew is a smaller hex screw, insert an allen key and apply more force (it has a thread lock on it). - Once it is out, separate all of the pieces and remove the springs. Insert the two new extensions, press firmly into place, and screw everything back together.
