You can pass your coax right though a wall (no messy, costly, lossy connectors) and make it look really nice by using this wall grommet. Just drill a hole in the plasterboard, per the diameters below. Then slip this over the end of you coax and jam it into the plaster where it will have tight interference fit. You won't upset the wife with this installation. It will make the cable exit look nice and professional. I don't even know if you can buy these devices. There are now FIVE types you can chose from: * 10mm diameter (eg: RG213, typically used for ham radio operators or low loss satellite cables). * 8mm diameter (eg: RG-6/UQ quad shielded - typically used in TV antenna, cable TV and satellite communications) * 7mm diameter (eg: RG-6/U dual shielded - typically used for TV antennas, cable TV and satellite cables) * 6mm diameter (eg: RG-59 - typically for video cables and TV antennas) * 5mm diameter (eg: RG-58 - typically for CB or ham radio operators) If in doubt, just measure the diameter of you cable and go for the next highest diameter grommet in the list. Just drill a hope in the wall, being careful not to drill into a water pipe or electrical mains cable! This assumes it is legal in your country for you to drill a hole in your own wall, and you are competent to do so. The hole diameters shown below are about 1mm less than the outside diameter of the interference fit prongs. Just twist and force the grommet into the plaster hole. It will "cut" the plaster for a tight fit. For the 10mm version, the hole diameter should be 13mm. For the 8mm version, the hole diameter should be 11mm. For the 7mm version, the hole diameter should be 10mm. For the 6mm version, the hole diameter should be 9mm. For the 5mm version, the hole diameter should be 9mm.
