4S7P Li-ion 18650 Field Pack
Description
This is a shell for a 4S7P Li-ion battery pack made of 18650 cells. It fits nicely inside a standard 50Cal Ammo Box. I use it for recharging batteries whilst out flying. It cost me about £50 to buy the 28 18650 cells and build. Now I can recharge another 12-15 1300mAh 4S Li-po packs whilst out in the field. The shell is held together with 2 large zipties so that it can be quickly taken apart and re-assembled but remain strong. This design does not use a BMS and therefore requires a balance charger. UPDATE 24/01/2021: After over a year, this field pack is still going strong! I use it every time I go flying to charge at the field and storage charge any remaining packs once home. So far, I've only ever depleted it on two occasions. I estimate that to date, I have used it to recharged ~ 300+ 1500mAh 4S packs.
