Modular and Expandable Logitech Crayon Charging Base for Class Sets of Any Size
Description
This is designed to be a modular and expandable (or reducible) charging cradle for any size class set of Logitech Crayon iPad styluses. The school district I work for has some class sets of Logitech Crayons for students to use with their 1:1 iPads. Unfortunately, the Crayons are generally haphazardly placed on a table to charge a few at a time and sometimes are stored in a freezer bag. This solution addresses the need to have them all charged and easily available for students to use while in class. The Crayon can be easily obtained, and at the end of class, can be placed back into a charging cradle. This is a modular design and is intended to support any size class set. If the class set grows, simply print more and snap them together. The cradle was designed to accommodate aftermarket lightning cables that may be significantly larger than Apple's cables. However, there is a small adapter that can be printed so that official Apple cables fit inside the cradle nicely. When inserting a cable, start from the bottom of the block and once the cable is through, rotate 90 degrees and pull back down. The cable will now be seated into position at the proper height for use. If using an official Apple lightning cable, use the adapter to make the cable end larger, ensuring proper fit into the cradle. Underneath the charging cradle there is space for cable management. Small zip ties may be used to secure each cable to the charging block.
