ET Finger - light up finger for halloween
Description
I made this finger tip for a halloween costume of ET the extra-terrestrial. Kid is ET and this finger has an LED in it and a finger activated switch. For the electronics i used a hail damaged solar light and cut off the solar panel. I use another hail damaged solar light as a charger to charge rechargable batteries for this. for the switch i used 2 flat terminals seperated by thin piece of packing foam. When the foam is compressed the solder on one terminal touches the other terminal competing the circut and activating the LED. You can probably find a dozen better solutions, but i used somehting that would have ended up in the trash. Once the elecronics were assembled i hot glued the bundle to the inside of the finger tip, tested again, and superglued the top piece on. He will have a brown colored stretch glove on his hand with the index finger cut off. I have big hands and this did not fit me you may need to scale to fit.
