Tripod Firmer for Celestron 127 Mak and others
Description
This really firms up the tripod so that the scope doesn't vibrate so much and for so long every time you touch it! On the minus side, it'll take you an extra 5 minutes or so to set up your viewing session :p . This will fit the Celestron 127Mak and should fit whatever other tripod that has 22mm diameter lower tripod legs. I think the two pictures are pretty self explanatory as to how it's assembled? Once assembled, simply removing the 1/4-20 bolts on each of the legs allows you to remove the center pieces as one part. Loosening the M3 bolts will allow you to close your tripod (though it will now be an inch longer closed up). Personally, I usually leave mine assembled to use it at home and will only disassemble it for travel. I've uploaded the parts as a combo and singly. If you have the bed for it, I've arranged the parts to fit and print all at once (on my Creality 10s). I printed everything with PLA Plus and used 15% infill. No supports needed. 3D Printed, either the whole thing at once (Tripod Firmer) or: 1 Center Bracket 1 Center Bracket Cap 3 Tripod Spacer Bars 3 22mm Tripod Bracket Rotated OR 3 22mm Tripod Bracket Back 3 22mm Tripod Bracket Front Hardware: 6 M3x10 Bolts 6 M3 Nuts 4 1/4-20x1-3/4 Bolts 4 1/4-20 Nuts Note: I made the recess for the M3 nuts EXACTLY to size. Why? Because dropping one of those tiny things in the grass will result in needing another. Simply put the nut on the end of a bolt, heat the nut up a little, and press fit it in. That way it STAYS in.
