Parametric 90 degree pipe connector
Description
A simple parametric connector to connect 2 pipes (of equal diameter) at a 90 degree angle. Works pretty well as a press-fit, but includes holes for drilling and fixing the pipe into the mount. The connector can be printed without supports vertically. I do suggest lowering the printing speed near the top because it tends to become susceptible to noise when Z exceeds XY, especially with the chamfer at the bottom. Also, I always print them in pairs to let the parts cool more between layers. ### Pipe Diameter Diameter of the 2 holes for the pipe, add some margin. I use 22.3 for 22 mm pipes when printing with a 0.6mm nozzle. ### Pipe Offset The distance between the 2 pipes, measured from the center of the pipes, not taking into account the diameter of the pipes. ### Wall Thickness Minimum size of the wall (the total thickness of the mount will be Pipe Diameter + 2 * Wall Thickness. The total length of the mount will be Pipe Offset + Pipe Diameter + 3 * Wall Thickness. The latter is because the gap is extended to both sides of the pipe hole, so that it can be printed vertically using bridging for the top part of the pipe hole. See picture 3. ### Wall Chamfer Just makes it look a bit nicer. ### Gap Size Size of the gap, more gap gives more flexibility for press fitting to the pipes. ### Fixing Bore Size of the small hole which can be used to drill and fix the pipe to the mount with a bolt.
