Resin / Liquid Container

Resin / Liquid Container

Description

The vase / container is a threaded jar, designed to hold 50 to 250ml of liquid (sizes 50ml, 75ml, 100ml, 130ml, 150ml, and 250ml). Print the top and 50ml jar at 50% for the 10ml jar. NEW: Version 2 of the Top has an outer lip, enhancing the lid seal. During tests, no leaks from a water filled jar, standing on the lid for 24 hours. The lid was printed at 0.2mm in wood PLA. These jars were designed for temporary storage. Your average resin printer vat holds 100 to 130 ml. The jar should never be filled above the beginning of its narrowest point. The top threads into the narrow to create a nearly water tight seal. The seal depends greatly on the printer, the material and the settings used when printing. The inner lid has an indentation for the addition of a rubber band to enhance the seal. Best to store upright, avoiding potential leaks. For resin storage, it is best to use opaque materials, black, dark colors, and deep reds, blocking out as much light as possible. I printed the tests on my FDM printer, but I may make a couple with the resin printer, sidestepping issues inherent problems with liquids. While wood was used for some tests, the less exotic PLA had the best water tight surface in its base. Regardless, I'd suggest coating the interior with a thin layer of resin, curing it to better seal the layered interior. I've done so with the wooden PLA prints, making them useful for resin storage. Otherwise, they'd be good for storing powders, pills, thick gels, and paint.
