Case for Doogee S60 phone
Description
Case for Doogee S60 --------------------------- After getting fed up with the shortcomings of the built-in software in motorbike navigation systems (yes, I've tried various brands), I decided to give a smartphone a try. The Doogee S60 looked like a good candidate: * it's waterproof * the display is bright enough for full sun light * the battery easily lasts for a whole day of riding However, due to the weight of the beast and the odd shape I had difficulties to mount it to my motorbike in a way that makes me feel confident not to lose it on the way. So I designed my own case and bolted a RAM mount (RAM-B-347U) on the back to mount it on the bike. The two parts of the case are held together by (reusable) cables ties, works like a treat and allows to get the phone out for charging easily. As the riding season is coming to end here in Germany, I only made some test rides but so far I'm happy with it. I'm not sure what the UV light will do to the case in the long run, time will tell. Printing ---------- I used PETG (Innofil3D pet-0307) to print it. Printing should be easy (no supports needed), though PETG has a tendency for stringing (as you can see on the photos). Printing was done using 20% infill and to be really sure I used modifier STL files (the ones called *_x.stl) and set infill for those to 100%, though I don't think that's really required.
